Award-winning year for the Goethals Bridge Replacement Project

The Goethals Bridge Replacement Project earned six awards in 2018. The project provides critical access for commuters and freight carriers traveling from Elizabeth, New Jersey, and Staten Island, New York.

The bridge project brought several improvements, including 12-foot-wide lanes, a breakdown lane for accidents and a commuter lane for bikes. These changes, along with marked improvements on production costs and safety, awarded the project the following recognitions:

• 2018 Best Project in Highways/Bridges
• 2018 Best Project for Excellence in Safety
• 2018 Project of the Year
