Kiewit was named a Best Workplace in Canada for the eighth straight year on April 26. Kiewit earned the #39 spot on the large and multinational list, which can be viewed here, and was the only construction and engineering firm recognized. Other companies featured include Salesforce, which earned the top spot, SAP and KFC. The list was published in the April 27 edition of The Globe and Mail.

“This is an exciting accomplishment and reflective of the dedication our employees put into delivering some of the most critical engineering and construction projects in Canada, and into building, maintaining and continuously improving the company culture we are all very proud of,” said Vice President of Human Resources – Operations John Shaw. “Our employees build landmark projects that provide all Canadians with the reliable transportation and energy infrastructure they depend on, with an unwavering commitment to safety, quality and environmental stewardship.”

The 2018 Best Workplaces™ in Canada list is compiled by the Great Place to Work® Institute. The competition process is based on two criteria: two-thirds of the total score comes from confidential employee survey results and the remaining one-third comes from an in-depth review of the organization’s culture. This offers a rigorous representation of the organization from an employee perspective, and an overall portrait of the workplace culture. Together, they provide crucial data relative to five trust-building dimensions: credibility, respect, fairness, pride, and camaraderie.

This year’s list received over 400 registrations and over 80,000 employees participated in the 2018 “Best Workplaces™ in Canada” survey, rolling out to impact over 300,000 Canadian employees.
