Cloe Doucet Award Winner 190424

On April 23, the Women’s Infrastructure Network (WIN) presented Cloé Doucet with a prestigious honor: the Emerging Leader Award. In good company, Doucet was chosen as the winner out of a strong group of women who work at companies like WSP Global, Canada Infrastructure Bank and Fengate Asset Management.

WIN presented the award at simultaneous events in Montréal, Ottawa, Toronto and Vancouver. At the event, Doucet met and received congratulations from Doreen Assaad, the first woman elected as mayor of Brossard, Quebec in 30 years.

The Emerging Leader award “recognizes an exceptional woman who has distinguished herself early in her career in the infrastructure sector, and has demonstrated a pattern of leadership.”

According to her coworkers, the award description matches her perfectly.

“Cloé is a committed and passionate 28-year-old woman who stands out in both her professional and personal environment,” said Kiewit Estimator Anna Canan.

After four years on remote projects like Lower Mattagami, Doucet moved to Montreal to work on the $1.6 billion Turcot Interchange. As project engineer, she leads and coordinates multidisciplinary teams and manages cost versus budget. Given her success in the role, Doucet is currently transitioning to become a discipline manager.

A strong supporter of women at Kiewit, Doucet co-founded a committee for the Eastern Canada district to connect women and improve retention. She also encouraged Kiewit to bring the Women Construction Leadership Seminar — a two-day seminar that teaches engineering students leadership, confidence, operations and construction — to Montréal.

In addition to serving as a leader within Kiewit, Doucet also uses her talents to help the community. She speaks at universities about topics that touch women in infrastructure. Doucet also organizes Turcot job tours for female students.

“Her leadership, initiative, generosity and integrity not only create a sense of trust, but also have earned her reputation as a leader of tomorrow,” said Canan. “Cloé is an exceptional engineer, but above all, an outstanding woman in the infrastructure industry.”
